Homecoming is Jeni Couzyn's personal account of her
return to South Africa, with pictures by leading South African artist
Cecil Skotnes. It begins by responding to a series of paintings
by the artist of the Brandberg, a mountain in Namibia full of cave
paintings.
The book goes on to explore themes of memory, forgetting
and exile, in a landscape that records both its tragic history and
more contemporary pain.
A signed and numbered special edition of 100 copies
is available, with proceeds to go towards the Bethesda Arts Centre,
a community arts project in the South African village of Nieu Bethesda.
